If you’re wondering how to increase sales in your travel agency, stay tuned because I’ve got a strategy for you that you maybe haven’t heard before… and it works like a charm.

Your ideal clients are most likely very busy people (even if they’re retired!), so when they get an email or a voicemail that is not crystal clear – they will often set it aside to deal with later.

If you make it really easy for your clients to understand what their options are, what you need from them and by when – then they can quickly respond to you. When your communication is not crystal clear, then your clients have to figure out what you’re asking them or what their options are. This makes it hard for them because you are essentially giving them work to do, so instead they just move on to the other million things they have to get done that day and think “I’ll deal with this later”.

And later may or may not ever come.

They hired you to make the process fun and easy for them. In order for it to be fun and easy for them, your communication short, concise and to the point.

I’ve worked with hundreds of travel agents and I find that most of them THINK that they are being concise and crystal clear in their communication, but in fact, they aren’t.

One mistake I see being made quite a bit is… giving your prospective clients five different things to make decisions on or consider in one message or email. This overwhelms them and decreases the chances they’ll get back to you.
