We are closing out another year this week. As we transition into a new year, I encourage you to take a moment to look back on your accomplishments. Even if you didn’t hit all of your goals, it’s important to honor and give gratitude to what you DID accomplish.
In my family we have a Christmas Eve tradition for doing this – that you’re welcome to copy! My friend and cousin-through-marriage, Farah, hosts a beautiful Christmas Eve Celebration and the best part of the night is the ornament ceremony.
This is the third year in a row that she honored each of us with a special ornament that represents our biggest accomplishment of the year, OR the thing we are most excited about. She pays close attention to everyone throughout the year and what’s going in their lives, then weeks before Christmas she hunts down the perfect ornament for each person, some she gets custom made.
Then she and her husband host a special ceremony Christmas Eve night celebrating each of us. It’s a beautiful love-filled party, and the perfect way to end the year.
This is a picture of Farah and me at last year’s celebration (you can see a picture of this years celebration on my Instagram).
This special celebration is fun, beautiful and I’m grateful for it, and I recognize that it’s a lot of work for Farah. You can celebrate your accomplishments by simply giving yourself the gift of a 20 minute New Year Ritual. Last week I sent you a simple yet profound New Year Ritual for you use to create a meaningful new year. If you missed it, you can view it here.
